Most VW vehicles have facility to extend front panel of the vehicle to provide increased space in engine compartment for carrying out various service applications. These guides support the front end when it is extended out to “Service Position”, which, on a number of models, is required as part of the timing belt replacement procedure. The guides are required when using VS4740 and VS4840 for timing belt replacement applications.
